Ideally located for the commuter, Irlam and Cadishead are within easy reach of Manchester City Centre and Liverpool, having great access to the motorway network: M6, M60, M62 and M56.

There are frequent bus services to Warrington and Manchester (including the Trafford Centre), which take in the major housing estates across the area, along with the Tram network that is accessed also at the Trafford Centre and at Eccles.
Irlam Station, situated at the heart of the district, provides excellent links to the national rail network. Trains run regularly to Manchester and Liverpool and all destinations in between, with Direct Trans Pennine trains taking you further afield. The Station House and its surroundings were transformed in 2015 and provide great facilities to rail users including enhanced parking, enabling people to park and ride to their destination.
National and International flights are available from Manchester Airport and Liverpool Airport which are both within easy reach.
Cycle routes and walking paths throughout the district are increasing and form part of a strategy to expand the provision as well as provide greater connectivity to other areas.
There are several walking pathways and routes to be found around the area of both Irlam & Cadishead and Rixton-with-Glazebrook.
Between Irlam Station and Liverpool Rd, take some time to meander along Station Park and take in the regenerated art pieces, its well worth a look!
Irlam Linear Park is a hidden gem in the centre of Irlam which is well worth a meander through. With entrances at Preston Avenue and Cadishead Way, start and end at your own choice with also an option to access the carpark at Tesco.
Greater Manchester Walking Trail is a project which includes two routes in our area, Leigh to Irlam and Irlam to Altrincham. Carbon Landscape have produced a Salford Heritage Timewalk which is a 4 mile, 2 hour circular walk with an option of audio!
Walk 10 Irlam to Cadishead a 7 mile, 4 hour walk which is a section of the Salford Trail, a long distance 50 miles of walks within the boundaries of City of Salford.
