Irlam Steel Recreation & Social Club
The Irlam Steel Recreation & Social Club or ‘The Steelies’ as it is affectionally known, has a long history in the area dating back to the 1920’s when it was built for the employees of the Steelworks by the British Steel Corporation. In 1979 the club was given to the members.
The clubhouse and grounds are still an essential part of the community providing a hub for recreation and sports. On the recreation front the clubhouse is home to Snooker, Darts and Dominoes which are played at League level and have award winning cask ales housed in the licensed bar.
There are several sports on offer with across the board age-range teams in Football, Cricket and Crown Green Bowls each with their own league divisions.
Why not take a look at their website for contact details to find out more information on how you can get involved and try some of the activities on offer.
The club also has several areas for hire as well as The Pavilion!
