Irlam and Cadishead Community Committee
There are eight community committees in Salford, one for each Neighbourhood Area. They take the form of open meetings where local residents can influence decisions about their area, which can include anything from the provision of youth activities or improving a local park to large scale regeneration initiatives.
Each community committee has a budget and is supported by its own Neighbourhood Management Team which works to put the priorities into action.
Membership of community committees is made up of councillors (voting members) and co-opted representatives of recognised community groups, typically tenants’ or residents’ associations and voluntary groups.
Irlam and Cadishead Community Committee is made up of an elected panel including a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, local area officer and elected representatives.
Meetings are held every two months at a variety of local sites and include attendance from officers of the Council and other organisations who report on new developments in the area and seek opinions from the community. Local residents and business owners are welcome to attend to learn more about what is happening in Irlam and Cadishead.
