Friends of Irlam Station
FIRST is a community group which was originally formed in 2006 through the combined efforts of Transport for Greater Manchester and local residents Sheila Illidge and Chris Trueblood.
With the aim of improving the station’s grounds and services, FIRST were successful in working with local stakeholders to implement improved lighting, installation of a waiting shelter to keep rail users dry on those wet days and bringing back a regular Sunday service.
Following its transformation in 2015, the station is something to be proud of and FIRST are looking for volunteers to help maintain this wonderful facility. Opportunities may include gardening, litter picking, promoting the station and much more.
If you are interested in supporting this impressive complex and becoming a Friend of Irlam Station, then please get in touch with them direct.
