Budding gardeners lend a hand!

As the Autumn leaves fell in Irlam Linear Park on 16th November 2018, 33 children from St. Teresas school and 8 children from Springwood school were beavering away on the ground helping Hamilton Davies Trust (HDT) plant a swathe of English bluebells at the Preston Avenue entrance to our hidden gem.

With 500 bulbs to plant, it was a good job there was plenty of adults to lend a hand too!

HDT wish to thank Simon, Mandy and Anthony from Kingsland, who kindly worked alongside the children and teachers, as well as Geoff and Andy from the Friends of Chat Moss who also lent a hand anprovided the trowels for them to use.

Mandy Eccles from HDT said: “HDT want to say a big thank you to all the children and adults who did such a fantastic job. What a lovely morning it was listening to the chatter amongst the children and adults as they busily planted. Well done everyone!”

For some of the children it was their first visit to the Linear Park and they really enjoyed it and are excited to see the carpet of bluebells next Spring.

If you’ve not had chance to see this lovely woodland space yet, then don your wellies, pop along and enjoy. Alternatively, click here to see images https://irlamandcadishead.net/locations/irlam-linear-park/
